How to Use the BioHck Pen

Clear steps. Clean process. Confident use.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Wash or sanitise your hands thoroughly before handling your BioHck products.

1. Prepare Your Supplies

You’ll need:

• Your BioHck Pen (prefilled)
• A new sterile needle
• An alcohol swab
• A sharps container
• A tissue or cotton pad

2. Wash & Sanitise Your Hands Again

Wash well with soap and water, then dry completely.

3. Attach the Needle

• Remove the pen cap.
• Take a new needle and peel off the protective seal.
• Push the needle straight onto the pen and twist to lock it.
• Remove the outer needle cap and keep it.
• Remove the inner needle cap and keep it.

4. Prime the Pen (first-time use only)

• Turn the dose dial to 0.1 or 0.2.
• Press the injection button until a small droplet appears at the needle tip.

5. Set Your Dose

Turn the dial to your prescribed amount.

6. Choose Your Injection Site

Recommended subcutaneous areas (under the skin):

• Abdomen (at least 2 cm from the belly button)
• Outer thigh
• Upper arm (if someone else is injecting)

Tip: Rotate injection sites to avoid irritation.

7. Clean the Area

Use an alcohol swab and let the skin dry fully.

8. Inject Your Dose

• Hold the pen at a 90° angle to the skin.
• Insert the needle completely.
• Press the injection button all the way down.
• Hold for 10 seconds to ensure the full dose is delivered.

9. Remove & Safely Dispose of the Needle

• Remove the needle from the skin.
• Replace the outer cap, then twist off the needle.
• Discard it into a sharps container.

10. Replace Cap & Store the Pen

• Put the pen cap back on.
• Store in the refrigerator (2–8 °C).
• Do not freeze or expose to direct sunlight.
